Picking up where we left off the other day…
… For example, look at me. I turned out just fine after getting out of prison. Ha! Only kidding!!! If I ever went to prison, the best thing that could happen to me would to be locked up tight because when my mother found out, she would put a good whoopin on me.
Unfortunately, I lost my mother almost three years ago. She became very ill and committed suicide on September 19th, 2004. It was the most horrible day of my life and I still to this day I cannot get over losing her this way. I don’t think that I ever will or am expected to get over it. It is not something that goes away very easily although I now understand why her life ended this way.
Well enough about that. We can go down that road another time.
Let see, where were we… Oh yeah, I was talking about my brothers. We were lucky enough to live right behind the high school where we all graduated. This was great because we could walk to school with all of our friend and we had the luxury of using the sports fields to play ball on when ever we wanted.
We also always had something to do when we weren’t playing ball.
We skateboarded through the halls in the summer being chased by the janitors and also harassed the football players during summer camp. This was not only very scary but very exciting. These guys were not only big but fast too. Some times we would escape their clutches and other times we were taught the proper way to give a wedgy. The proper way meaning being hung by your underwear on a hook in the gymnasium. It was like something out of a Disney movie only not as funny in real life. My poor underwear never fit the same again but the good news is that everything did eventually heal properly. Pheeeeeww! (sigh of relief!).
They say if you have to explain it then you shouldn’t write it. I couldn’t think of another way to write it so I decided to explain it. Let me know if I am confusing you. It is OK. I am a little confused by now anyway. Those wedgies were more traumatizing then I realized.
Well, I am going to go recover a little and don’t worry I will be back with a little more about me and my life. Yes! there is a lot more to it because I went on to college and actually found someone that agreed to marry me later in life. I know, it is a little shocking.
Take a break with me and come back for more later.

Hi Tom … You have such an interesting childhood that it reminds me of mine. I grew up with 6 other brothers and sisters. Yea, 7 of us and my mom was good with a stick, spoon and an occasional belt. I have lost my mother last year. I am so sorry for your loss. We had them with us as long as we could.
May many blessings come your way!

Hey Linda!
Yes, when I sit down and think about my childhood a little, I realize how lucky we were to experience these things. Even the spoon!
I am sorry for your loss as well and I know the pain all too well. A year is not very long when you lose your mom. It takes a while to heal.
Take Care and Bless You Too!
Tom
